The goal was to utilize the prime location of the property which housed a large open space warehouse. While demolishing the existing building and starting fresh on the site was an option, this location offered strong recycling potential. Conscious of the possible damage demolition may have on the environment, concerns about the capacity of landfills, as well as the need to use raw material for new construction, it was determined that the warehouse would be recycled. The outcome transformed a hollow shell made of precast concerete into an aesthetically pleasing, sophisticated and functional medical office building.
